Court Filings Say R&B Singer Aaron Hall Still Unserved More Than a Year After Lawsuit Filed

More than a year after being named in a civil lawsuit, R&B singer Aaron Hall has yet to be formally served with legal papers, according to recent court filings detailing repeated but unsuccessful efforts to locate him. Hall, a key figure in late-’80s and early-’90s R&B as a member of Guy, was named as a defendant in a 2023 lawsuit, but the case has stalled at the procedural stage of service of process.
Court records outline a prolonged search that began in mid-2024, when process servers attempted to reach Hall at a residence in View Park, California, only to be told he no longer lived there. Subsequent attempts at other known addresses also failed. By March 2025, the plaintiff’s legal team requested permission to pursue service by publication, a step typically reserved for defendants who cannot be located despite extensive good-faith efforts.
The search expanded further in September 2025 with the hiring of a private investigator, who conducted database checks and canvassed areas of Los Angeles County where Hall was believed to frequent. Despite at least ten documented attempts using multiple strategies, investigators reported no confirmed sightings or viable leads. While the lawsuit (also naming Sean “Diddy” Combs) centers on allegations dating back to 1991, recent court activity has focused primarily on the difficulty of locating Hall, who has not publicly responded to the claims or addressed reports that he has remained unreachable.
