Outside the Studio: Nas and Eli Roth Team Up for Horror Film Partnership

Eli Roth’s The Horror Section has entered into a strategic partnership with Mass Appeal, the media company founded by Grammy-winning rapper Nas. The deal includes an investment from Mass Appeal and will see the two companies collaborate across film and television, with Roth and Nas co-developing new projects. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.


The partnership will launch with Roth’s upcoming horror film “Ice Cream Man,” which will feature Nas and Mass Appeal CEO Peter Bittenbender as executive producers. Roth praised Nas as a powerful cultural voice, noting their shared passion for horror storytelling and expressing enthusiasm for bringing the film to global audiences while creating new cultural moments within the genre.

Nas echoed the sentiment, calling the collaboration a natural fit and highlighting a shared creative vision with Roth. He emphasized their goal of pushing the boundaries of horror both culturally and creatively, adding that “Ice Cream Man” marks just the beginning of what they hope will be an innovative run of projects.


“Ice Cream Man” is the first film under The Horror Section banner since its launch in March 2025. The story follows a quiet summer town that spirals into chaos when an ice cream man delivers treats with terrifying consequences. Meanwhile, Mass Appeal continues to expand its entertainment footprint, following recent success with its “Legend Has It…” series and the release of “Light-Years,” a collaborative album from Nas and DJ Premier.
